Therapy That Comes From Lived Truth
The Evolution of My Practice:
Three Pillars Forged in Resilience, Precision, and Purpose
(noun)
Phoenix
PHOENIX | (/ˈfēniks/) A symbol of transformation and the resilient spirit. It is the act of gathering the remnants of what was to build something more authentic, more grounded, and entirely new.

You are capable of far more than you think.

Resilience - The Foundation
My resilience wasn’t formed in the Air Force—it was forged long before. It was built through decades of holding steady for others and navigating the weight of life-altering loss. I’ve learned that a "strong foundation" isn't just about discipline; it’s about the quiet, intentional work of keeping the light on when the world feels unrecognizable. We don't just aim for toughness—we work toward a resilience rooted in truth.

Precision - The Logic
I spent two decades in the IT sector analyzing complex, high-functioning systems. Today, I apply that same lens to the most intricate system of all: a mind wired for survival. Together, we "debug" the scripts of over-functioning and the invisible patterns that have kept you in a state of high-alert. We don’t just treat symptoms; we get to the root of the architecture to move you from constant maintenance to intentional peace.

Purpose - The Transformation
I pivoted to pursue a Master’s in Counseling (Liberty University) to help those who are weary of just "functioning" and ready to become whole. Today, I leverage my clinical training and my own history of navigating complex life transitions to help you reclaim your identity. We work to ensure you are no longer just an "anchor" for everyone else, but a person rooted in your own purpose and authenticity.

The Phoenix Philosophy
I don't just believe in "managing" symptoms; I believe in personal evolution.
My approach is rooted in 5 core truths:
-
You are the Architect: You hold the inherent power to heal; I am here to provide the blueprints and the tools.
-
Strength in Support: Seeking therapy isn't a sign of weakness—it’s a strategic decision to optimize your life.
-
Holistic Integration: We address the Body, Mind, and Spirit as one interconnected ecosystem.
-
The Power of Evolution: Change isn’t just possible; it is your natural state when the right conditions are met.
-
Our goal is lasting change that allows you to show up as your most authentic self.

Tory Woods, LPC, empowers adults to navigate communication challenges in their relationships.
Your Partner in Change.
I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) because it aligns with my belief in practical, measurable results. I don’t believe in being a passive observer. In our sessions, I play an active role—helping you identify how your thoughts influence your actions and equipping you with the strategies to "become your own therapist."
My diverse experience across group practice, advocacy, and behavioral health allows me to meet you exactly where you are with empathy that is informed by real-world perspective.

“Experience is the hardest kind of teacher. It gives you the test first and the lesson afterward.” — Oscar Wilde
The Person Behind the Professional
I have been fortunate to live a “well-experienced life.” I have known loss, and because I have loved deeply, I have grieved deeply. I have navigated the weight of the unknown and sat in the lows, waiting for the highs to return. For years, I wore the mask that said, “I’m good.” I showed up and "showed out" because I believed that was the price of being the anchor—regardless of the personal cost.
It may seem strange to call this a fortunate life, but I do. Without those tests, I wouldn't have the lessons. Every experience has gifted me the tools, the grit, and the grace to help my clients uncover the lessons within their own lives.
My Approach
I don’t sit back with passive nods. I lean in. With a background that spans military service and two decades in the tech sector, I bring a unique perspective to healing. I view your life through a lens of both empathy and analysis.
We won’t just talk about your feelings; we will unpack the patterns and dismantle the internal scripts that keep you in a state of high-alert. My goal is to help you move beyond "coping" and "performing" so you can rebuild a life rooted in your own truth and peace.

The Phoenix Philosophy
I don’t believe in simply "managing" symptoms; I believe in personal evolution. My approach is rooted in five core truths:
-
You are the Architect: You hold the inherent power to rebuild. I am here to help you uncover the root of your story and provide the tools to redesign a life that actually fits who you are.
-
Strategic Strength: Seeking therapy isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s a strategic decision to stop the cycle of over-functioning. It’s the choice to prioritize your own foundation.
-
Holistic Integration: We treat the mind, body, and spirit as one interconnected system. When one part is strained, the whole structure feels the weight. To heal one, we must address them all.
-
The Power of Evolution: Growth is your natural state. When we dismantle the "scripts" and "performance" keeping you stuck, evolution is the inevitable result.
-
Radical Authenticity: Our goal is transformation that allows you to stop performing for the world and start showing up as your whole, honest self.
